Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu El located at 2 Ogden Road in Scarsdale, New York has been awarded a number of Federal and NYS grants to improve our security posture.

The grant awards will be used to fund several projects and we are looking for contractors or vendors that can do the work described.

  1. The design and construction of an external vestibule (“man trap”) at one of building entrances. This “mantrap” will have a maglocks securing both inner and outer doors, operable from an internal location. The doors must be impact and intrusion resistant and any glass must be shatterproof and or coated with blast mitigating film.

  2. Replacement of an entrance door. This door must be intrusion resistant. It must also have a push bar alarm attached to it.

  3. Installation of bollards along a playground parallel to the Bronx River Parkway. These bollards would protect the playground from intentional vehicular rammings from the parkway. A pair of concrete spheres is also proposed to be placed near an entrance again to provide impact protection.

  4. The installation of a set of lights to improve lighting in our parking lot and at our front entrance.

  5. Blast mitigating glass on multiple windows and one of our entrances. This is to provide impact protection to the front of the building.

  6. The upgrade of the access control system to one of our entrances. This system must have the capability to be operated from our security station.

We are interested in working with MWBE operated businesses as NYS prefers for some of these grants we use such recognized vendors. However, the contractor/vendor does not have to be MWBE recognized if they outbid other vendors. All applicants are encouraged to apply.

We invite all interested to contact us and arrange a visit to our Temple so that we can better describe our needs.
